AFT Vice President
Paul Pecorale, a special education teacher in New York's Patchogue-Medford schools for 22 years, is a vice president of the New York State United Teachers (NYSUT), representing 600,000 members. Prior to that, Pecorale was the president of the Patchogue-Medford Congress of Teachers for eight years. He has served on the NYSUT Board of Directors for the last nine years, and has served as a NYSUT political action chair and a director of the Member Benefits Corporation.
He is a graduate of both the NYSUT and the AFL-CIO leadership institutes, and he has served on many NYSUT working groups, committees and task forces. A longtime proponent of coalition-building in the union movement, Pecorale also is active in the Long Island Federation of Labor.
